The installation of our application CM (visual studio 2015 web project) is very slow.
In the installation-log from our application setup, we're getting a lot of lines with the next info-messages:
INFO : [12/30/2015 15:09:25:347] [ApplyWebFolderProperties ]: Opening key '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/CM'
INFO : [12/30/2015 15:09:33:022] [ApplyWebFolderProperties ]: Closing key...
and
INFO : [12/30/2015 15:18:12:987] [ApplyWebFolderProperties ]: Getting METADATA_HANDLE for the directory '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/CM/'.
INFO : [12/30/2015 15:18:20:678] [ApplyWebFolderProperties ]: Getting web folder property token...
These actions takes more than 8 seconds which results in a total installation time of more than 30 minutes (which used to take less than 5 minutes one year ago).
We are using a Windows 2008R2 SP1 server with IIS7.5 with approx. 400 website-instances.
On a different test server these same actions in the log took less than 20 milliseconds (of course for the same installation file...)
Who can tell us what these actions actually doing and how we can speed them up???
