Hi all, I'm trying to optimize a new 2008 server for my company. It has been online for a while. During its running time, we found that the new server would always go down from time to time, but only for a very short time (about 2 or 3 min). After that it would
be recovered. I guess it should be a optimization problem because its hardware is actually better than the old one, while it acts worse under the same stress. Here are some clues that might be useful: The new server runs on server 2008 R2/IIS 7.5 2 servers
are running side by side and requests are balanced by DNS polling. I have examined all the IIS settings compare to the old server (all settings I can find in IIS Manager), completely the same. In the performance monitor, I find that the 2 servers have almost
the same "Current Connections" (About 1500 in average), while the new server has a very high "Connections Active", as well as "Connections Passive" and "Connections Reset". it's Almost 4 times higher than the old one. It seems it's the active connections who
occupied most of the system resources. Does anyone know how to reduce the quantities of the active connections? Any help is appreciate.
